AJA Video Systems has introduced the Io Xpand, a new Thunderbolt 5-enabled PCIe expansion chassis designed to bring the power of AJA KONA and Corvid I/O cards to modern laptops and compact workstations. Unveiled at InfoComm 2026, the solution enables video professionals to access high-performance video capture and playback capabilities without requiring a traditional desktop workstation.

Compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, Io Xpand supports Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, and USB4 connectivity. Users can pair the chassis with AJA KONA 1, KONA 4, or KONA 5 cards to create compact production systems for live switching, remote production, content creation, and on-location workflows.

Designed for portability and performance, the enclosure delivers up to 6000 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth while maintaining quiet operation in a rugged, lightweight form factor.
