Atomos CEO Jeremy Young Talks ProRes RAW Adoption, Shogun 7 Now 3000 Nits and More

One of the biggest names at IBC2019 was Atomos. We're going to take a look at some of the biggest news the company announced at the show.

ProResRAW

Atomos has been a central player in the proliferation and development of the ProResRAW file format. As such, their founder and CEO Jeromy Young was happy to announce the further integration of ProResRAW to new areas at the convention.

Avid and Adobe users will both have access to ProResRAW support in the new Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Atomos also announced ProResRAW integration with many consumer cameras including the Panasonic S1-H, Nikon Z6 and Z7, Canon C200 and C300, Panasonic EVA-1, and the new Sony FX9.

Shogun 7

Atomos also announced the the Shogun 7 Monitor recorder is receiving a major update. The brightness on the monitor is being raised from the previous 1500 to a stunning 3000 nits. This increased brightness will make the monitor daylight viewable, and will represent the full dynamic color range of the monitor.
