Avid Posts Updates for Xpress Pro and Xpress DV

Avid Xpress Pro version 4.5.1 All registered users of Avid Xpress Pro version 4.x qualify for the version 4.5.1 software update. This update, available via download, includes the v4.5.1 application for Windows XP or Mac OS X, several README files, and installation instructions. Some of the features of Avid Xpress Pro v4.5.1 are:

Native Windows Media 9 export - This release supports exporting to Native Windows Media 9, including "up-res" to HD formats

Digi 002 and Command|8 support - The Digi 002(R) and Command|8(TM) can be used as control surfaces for your Avid(R) editing system. They can also be used as controllers for automation gain recording.

Digidesign Pro Tools support - Avid supports exporting sequences to Digidesign Pro Tools.

Keys tabs - The Keys tab in the Capture Settings dialog box allows you to specify a default duration for subclips created during capture and to customize the commands mapped to the function keys on your keyboard that are used during the capture process.

ALE import of FCP projects - Avid Log Exchange (ALE) now supports importing a Final Cut Pro or tabbed shot log file.

MXF support between Avid, Digidesign & Softimage applications- This release supports the MXF file format. You can also now perform audio and video conversion between OMF and MXF formats.
