Award-Winning Concert Production Powered by BirdDog PTZ and NDI

When the Town of Hempstead called on New York-based video pro Tony to direct a live outdoor concert, it started as a simple two-camera gig. But with only hours before showtime, the scope changed, recording was added, and Tony made the call to go big.
He deployed a six-camera setup using BirdDog P240 and P200 PTZ cameras, a JVC handheld, and an ADA cam. With NDI and PoE, each PTZ ran power, control, and video through a single cable, dramatically cutting setup time. A Netgear M4250 switch and TriCaster with dual NICs completed the system, keeping it rock-solid throughout.
The result? A polished, award-winning production with just two operators and zero network hiccups. The show went on and earned a Silver Telly Award for Directing.
“We did it for the fans, and the gear held up flawlessly,” said Tony.
“BirdDog’s NDI setup just works.”
