Canon Expands Cinema EOS Capabilities with Major Firmware Update for Live and Remote Production

Alongside its new Cine-Servo lens, Canon announced a comprehensive firmware update for its Cinema EOS lineup, including the C400, C80, C70, C50, and R5C. These updates are designed to enhance live production workflows, improve remote control capabilities, and deliver more reliable streaming performance across a wide range of use cases.

Key improvements include Auto Exposure Ramping Compensation on the EOS C400 to address light loss during zooms, enhanced USB-based remote control for camera operation, and more robust SRT streaming with auto-reconnection features. Additional usability upgrades, such as a visual leveling indicator, help streamline setup and operation in fast-paced environments. Together, these updates reinforce Canon’s focus on building a more connected, efficient ecosystem for filmmakers and live production teams
