What the RC-IP300 Is
The RC-IP300 is a dedicated hardware controller for Canon PTZ cameras. It connects to your network via Ethernet and controls up to 200 Canon PTZ cameras from a single panel. Notably smaller than the RC-IP1000 — nearly 4 inches shorter — it takes up less desk space and is significantly more portable.
It can be powered by the included AC adapter or via PoE (Power over Ethernet) — a single Ethernet cable handles both network connection and power, simplifying installation in permanent setups.
3.5-Inch Touchscreen — More Than a Status Display
The touchscreen on the RC-IP300 does real production work:
Camera preview — displays live video from up to 9 cameras per page on the touchscreen. Without an external monitor, you can confirm framing for all cameras simultaneously from the controller itself. For small productions without a dedicated multiview monitor, this eliminates a piece of hardware.
Touch AF — tap any point on the camera preview to trigger instant autofocus on that area. Fast, intuitive, no button menus required.
Menu navigation — access camera settings, control panels, and configuration directly on the touchscreen.
Presets — 100 Per Camera
The RC-IP300 stores up to 100 presets per camera and provides 10 hard preset buttons on the panel for instant one-press recall of your most-used positions. Additional presets are accessible via the touchscreen.
For productions with defined shot lists — the pulpit, the choir, the wide shot, the close-up — this preset depth means every important angle is always one button press away.
Trace Function — Record and Repeat Camera Movements
The trace function lets you record a specific camera movement, then replay it identically on demand. Up to 10 traces per camera can be saved.
Record a slow pan across a congregation during pre-production. Save it. During the live service, trigger that exact movement with a single button press — perfect execution every time without manual operation.
This is the same concept as the motion path feature on the Atomos A-Eye Controller Pro — and it's built into the RC-IP300.
Multi-Preset — Move All Cameras Simultaneously
Multi-preset triggers all cameras to move to a defined preset with a single button push. One press repositions every camera in your production simultaneously to a predefined configuration.
Use case: at the start of a new segment, all cameras need to reset to their wide/default positions. One button instead of recalling each camera individually.
12 Custom User Buttons
The RC-IP300 has 12 buttons you can assign to any frequently used function — custom-mapped per your workflow. If you constantly reach for the same setting or command, assign it to a dedicated button rather than navigating menus every time.
Connectivity
- Stream Deck via USB-A — connect an Elgato Stream Deck directly to the RC-IP300 for expanded button control. The Stream Deck integrates through Bitfocus Companion for additional workflow automation
- Serial RJ45 — RS-232/RS-485 serial control of cameras using NU and standard protocols
- 9-pin GPIO — external tally light control, integrating the RC-IP300 with venue tally systems
- Firmware updates via USB-A — update the controller without network access
Autotracking Control
The RC-IP300 supports control of Canon's autotracking applications — both the free built-in version and the paid add-on versions. Enable, disable, and configure autotracking for each camera directly from the controller.
