ChyronHego is no stranger to IP-based live production solutions or workflows. In fact, ChyronHego and NewTek have been working closely together since 2012, when ChyronHego integrated its industry-standard Lyric graphics creation and playout software with NewTek’s TriCaster® system using an early version of what is now NewTek’s Network Device Interface, better known by its acronym, NDI.
This partnership resulted in a new, innovative IP-based product called ChyronIP, now renamed LyricIP. LyricIP customers instantly realize the benefits of this partnership. With LyricIP, ChyronHego graphics stream directly into the TriCaster over a network connection. Valuable video inputs that otherwise would be dedicated to graphics instead remain available for cameras and other vital external sources.
NewTek, very much like ChyonHego, is a company that is always looking forward and always contemplating the possibilities of “what if…”. NewTek has since evolved NDI into the leading royalty-free standard to connect professional-grade broadcast video technologies over standard Ethernet. As a result, NDI is now supported across the entire ChyronHego product line.
With such widespread support for NDI, ChyronHego products — such as Lyric, Live Compositor, the PRIME Ecosystem, Paint, Virtual Placement, and Hybrid Virtual Studios — are able to see and access content from other devices via standard Ethernet, allowing more sources than ever before to be used, while keeping all workflows intact with a dramatic cost reduction for our customers.
