Datavideo SE-700 wins Church Production's Top 5 Product for Churches Award
NAB is one of the largest trade shows in the world. With almost 2,000 exhibitors and over one million square feet of exhibit floor space, its size and scale are almost indescribable.
During the five days of that the Church Production staff was on-site (four days of the expo, plus a full day of pre-show press conferences) we attended close to 100 appointments. Sounds like a lot, but consider the fact that we were booked almost every half hour for five solid days and we still only met with about 5% of the exhibitors. While we admit we didn't see every exhibitor, we're quite confident we saw those that are the most focused on the house-of-worship market.
Our “Top 5 Products for Churches from NAB 2015” were selected by Church Production staff, independent writers and market experts based on criteria that included: user-friendliness, overall innovation, a feature set that best fits house-of-worship applications and affordability.
Datavideo SE-700 Four-Input HD Digital Video Switcher
What struck us at the Datavideo booth was the level of organization and focus on specific markets. Larger than we remember from years past, the Datavideo booth was laid out in long counter-height tables with products designed for specific applications, including: education, sports, government and, of course, worship. This type of display was refreshing, especially for the first time NAB attendee who could easily get lost in the miles of tech on display at the show. While Datavideo debuted a number of intriguing products at NAB 2015, their new SE-700 switcher was especially remarkable. The company calls it, “the most affordable four-input HD video switcher on the market.” While that’s impossible to verify, at less than $1,800 retail there is no doubt the new SE-700 offers a fantastic array of options for small- and medium-sized churches (or even secondary rooms – chapels, youth rooms etc – in larger churches). Features include: dual chromakey, lumakey, downstream keying, PIP (picture-in-picture), clip storage, and a control panel. It includes two HD-SDI and two HDMI inputs and two HD-SDI and one HDMI output, plus two balanced XLR audio outputs.
