Elgato Marketplace: How Stream Deck Plugins Work and What You Can Download

What Is the Elgato Marketplace?

The Elgato Marketplace is a plugin directory built into Stream Deck software. Search for any app, platform, or device — if someone has built an integration, it shows up here. Download, assign actions to buttons, done.

Plugins come from three sources:

  • Elgato official — built and maintained by Elgato directly
  • Manufacturer official — built by the software or hardware company themselves
  • Community-built — open source plugins made by users, covering virtually any tool not officially supported

Most plugins are free. Some premium ones are paid. The open-source nature means if your specific tool doesn't have a plugin yet, there's a high chance someone has already built one.

Key Plugins Worth Knowing

OBS Studio (free, official Elgato) — start/stop recording, start/stop stream, scene switching, source switching, instant replay triggers, mute/unmute. Full production control without touching the mouse.

Discord (free, official Elgato) — mute, deafen, push-to-talk, push-to-mute, voice/text channel switching, video toggle, stream toggle. Essential for gaming and community productions.

Adobe Premiere Pro — timeline scrubbing frame-by-frame with a dial, export triggers, layer controls. Not officially licensed but fully functional — the open-source ecosystem fills the gap where official integrations don't exist.

Zoom / Microsoft Teams — switch active speaker, mute/unmute, background changes, volume control. Replaces fumbling for keyboard shortcuts mid-call.

Twitch / YouTube  — platform-specific plugins for chat interaction, alert triggers, clip creation, and stream management. Platform integrations are available directly from the marketplace.

Streamlabs — scene switching, alert control, donation triggers, recording management.

Flowix Graphics — trigger graphic animations, lower thirds, and overlays directly from Stream Deck buttons. No separate graphics operator needed.

How to Set It Up

  1. Open Stream Deck software
  2. Click the marketplace icon
  3. Search for your app or platform
  4. Install the plugin
  5. Drag any action onto a button or dial
  6. Label it, assign an icon, done

No coding required. Any action from any installed plugin can be assigned to any button, dial, or touchscreen shortcut — and rearranged any time.

Multi-Action Buttons

One of the most underused features: a single button can trigger multiple actions in sequence. Open Word, Excel, and Teams with one press at the start of the day. Close everything with one press at the end. Assign a full production startup sequence — launch OBS, load your scene, enable your mic, start recording — to a single key.
