JVC Professional Video Case Study: KY-PZ100 PTZ cameras at Budweiser Events Center

The Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado is known for being home to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles hockey team but also hosts many exciting events like concerts, basketball games and more. To provide top notch video quality, the events center uses JVC Professional Video KY-PZ100 PTZ cameras.

JVC's KY-PZ100 20x PTZ cameras features JVC's unique IP communications engine providing network connection via Wi-Fi, 4G-LTE, or cabled LAN. In addition to its 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs, it is also capable of reliably streaming 1080i/60, 1080p, 720p, and 360p video with 2-channel audio--all with minimal latency and forward error correction.

Budweiser Events Center like many other event centers faced challenges during the pandemic. They had to find a new way to produce content not on the ice. That's when they created a production space with a camera deck out of what was previously a utility area for spotlights. They needed a PTZ camera solution that would produce content at a further distance than what they were use to. Budweiser Events Center trusted JVC Professional Video because of their experience using JVC GY-HM850 camcorders for game film, so when they needed PTZ cameras, JVC was their solution.

"We didn’t have a camera that could produce quality footage all the way from the rafters, so we decided to mount a JVC KY-PZ100 PTZ up there, since the team had such a good experience with the brand. We were so impressed with that camera, we decided to replace all our old PTZs throughout the arena.”
Dillon Dannettell, Technical Services Manager at the Budweiser Events Center.

Budweiser Events Center now uses several KY-PTZ100's PTZ cameras in addition to the RM-LP100 remote camera controller. Their JVC setup with the PTZ cameras, PTZ controller, and camcorders allows all angles of the rink to be covered.

"The JVC PTZ system allows us to have all our camera shots saved as presets, in addition to storing multiple positions in a preset group, which is really beneficial for the range of events we deploy in the space. We have position groups set up for specific events. So, when we have basketball, rodeos, or other events, we don’t have to override the previous job ― we can recall the different presets. For example, position group one is hockey, group two is basketball, group three is rodeo, and so on."
Dillon Dannettell, Technical Services Manager at the Budweiser Events Center.

Since using the JVC camera setup, Budweiser Events Center has been able to produce high quality productions for AHL's streaming platform, AHLTV, and their own shows.
