LiveU Solo, SoloConnect and the Future of 5G

On this week's Videoguys Live, Gary Bettan is joined by Dan Pisarski- the VP of Engineering in North America at LiveU.  They cover the LiveU Solo, your connection options with this great encoder, and the future of 5G.

LiveU Solo

The LiveU Solo is a video encoder perfect for both those on the go, and those with a fixed network.  The Solo is available in two flavors- HDMI and HDMI and SDI.

The Solo can be connected in a variety of methods, including WiFi, Ethernet and Cellular Bonding via either Solo Connect modems, or third party modems.  With LiveU's LRT cloud service, all of these signals can be bonded together, to create a much stronger and more reliable signal.

Solo Connect

LiveU's Solo Connect Modems are a great solution to pull a signal from anywhere.  The LiveU Solo Connect 2 Modem and 3 Modem kit allow users to use cellular bonding and LiveU's LRT cloud service to pull a signal and stream, from anywhere.

Better yet, LiveU has set up the Solo Connect Modems to be easy for users to set up, by allowing them to purchase their service plan right after registering their hardware!

5G

Gary and Dan also have a great discussion about the future of 5G, and where it fits in with live event streaming.  While the needs of live video have certainly changed amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic, which means the expectations on 5G, and the timeline of 5G becoming a reality have also changed.  We've got the info you need!
