Matrox ConvertIP DSS SDI/IP converter validated by Panasonic for KAIROS IP production platform

Panasonic's all-IP KAIROS live video production platform has been tested to work with Matrox ConvertIP DSS SDI/IP converter from Matrox Video.

In its test facility, Panasonic verified the compatibility. By bridging the gap between the KAIROS and SDI devices, the converter enables the integration of conventional SDI signaling and processing into an SMPTE ST 2110 environment.

According to Matrox, customers of the platform can drive SDI monitors or ingest SDI signals into their vision mixer during live productions and conventional broadcasts by integrating ConvertIP DSS into the KAIROS workflow.

According to the company, the integration is especially crucial for conventional broadcast facilities that are switching from SDI infrastructures to ST 2110 infrastructures. ConvertIP DSS may link the KAIROS to pre-existing SDI monitoring equipment, such as multiviewer monitors or program feed monitors. ConvertIP DSH, the sister product of the ConvertIP DSS, can be used to convert a ST 2110 UHD stream and output a complete 2160p UHD signal to an HDMI monitor if HDMI monitoring is necessary.
