Matrox Introduces Monarch Edge 4k/Multi-HD & Remote Encoder
Yesterday, Matrox introduced the Matrox Monarch Edge at NAB. This video encoder is a 4K, multi/HD, low latency webcasting and remote integration tool.
This new encoder is capable of creating resolution up to 3840 x 2160p60 or quad 1920 x 1080p60 for broadcast quality video. The Matrox Monarch Edge offers users future-proofed 3G/12G-SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 over 25 GbE connectivity. The encoder also features versatile multi-protocol support including RTMP, SRT, MPEG-2, and RTSP.
Featured workflows:
Webcasting:
Monarch Edge is a robust broadcasting tool with low-latency and H.264 encoding capabilities. This is a perfect tool to help users extend their reach while utilizing Matrox's newest webcasting innovation.
REMI
Users can also use the Monarch Edge to produce and broadcast live multi camera projects- such as sporting events. However, broadcasters can now keep their talent in-studio, creating a product at a minimal cost. Monarch Edge connects secure remote camera feeds to a productions master control room or production cloud, where video and graphics can be mixed.
High-density contribution
Monarch Edge also provides additional back haul feeds, or redundant power contribution channels to the primary feed. The encoder delivers four channels at 4:2:2 10-bit broadcast quality streams. At the same time, the Monarch Edge generates simultaneous proxy streams to all four of it's inputs- available to be monitored anywhere on the network.
