Don Ballance, NewTek’s headmaster of training, took AV Interactive’s Zoe Mutter on a free-wheeling tour through the massive mix of online and on-site training that NewTek offers for resellers and end users. An extensive library of free training videos and materials, as well as affordable classes, cover every aspect of live production, streaming, switching, graphics creation, and virtual sets capability with NewTek’s TriCaster integrated multi-camera production systems.
In what format is NewTek’s training offered?
There are several ways. We host NewTek University for our resellers – an immersive hands-on operation and demonstration training over several days. We cover the full product line and the way our products are used and integrated in the real world. Many of our resellers take this knowledge and offer training to their customers.
We also have a full curriculum for becoming a certified operator. On the NewTek website there is a matrix of products and training material including videos and a written curriculum. This content is geared to prep a student for taking the certification exam. We have a nationwide network of testing centres that can serve the certification test to anyone. Upon passing you get listed on our site as a certified operator. The curriculum is a set of videos and three documents – student notes, instructor guide and activities.
