Pearl Nano Gets RTMP and MTU Fixes in Firmware 4.24.2

The latest firmware update 4.24.2 for Epiphan Pearl encoders is now availible includes several improvements aimed at boosting reliability, configuration flexibility, and ease of use across the product line.

For Pearl Nano users, the update introduces a new configuration option that minimizes high bitrate variability, reducing the risk of stream disconnections with certain RTMP endpoints. In addition, an issue with MTU values not being applied correctly through the web interface has been resolved.

Other improvements in this release include:

  • NDI source discovery over USB-to-Ethernet adapters, enabling more flexible network setups.

  • Validated audio codec settings in the web interface, helping prevent configuration errors.

  • A simplified fan control interface on Pearl-2, with only two options: Auto and Maximum.

  • Multiple bug fixes and refinements for improved system stability.

With these enhancements, Epiphan continues to refine the Pearl family of encoders, ensuring professional broadcasters, educators, and live event producers have reliable tools for mission-critical streaming.
