ProGrade 512GB UHS-II V90 SDXC Card Meets the Needs of All Shooters
Graham Sheldon from CineD recently posted a review article of the ProGrade Digital 512GB SDXC UHS-II V90 Memory Card. It has a a read speed of 300MB/s, a write speed of 250MB/s, and 512GB worth of space for 4K RAW footage. Let's see how the ProGrade Digital 512GB SDXC UHS-II V90 Memory Card does in the field.
The ProGrade Digital 512GB SDXC UHS-II V90 Memory Card features a storage capacity of up to 512GB per card and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support maximum read speeds of 300 MB/s and maximum write speeds of 250 MB/s. This card has also been designed with the V90 Video Speed Class rating, which guarantees minimum write speeds of at least 90 MB/s, allowing the card to be used in DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camcorders, and digital cinema cameras that produce rich data streams, including 6K, 5K, 4K, UHD 4K, and high bit rate MPEG-4 video. It is also well-suited for raw photos and rapid-fire bursts.
While CFexpress is quickly gaining popularity in the video world, there are still quite a cameras that require a fast and trustworthy SDXC memory card. One of these cameras being the Canon EOS C70, which can shoot 4K and Canon RAW. Graham put the ProGrade 512GB UHS-II V90 SDXC Card to the test with the Canon EOS C70.
For Graham, being able to shoot the newly added Canon RAW ST, LT or trusty XF-AVC UHD formats would be the main purchasing impetus for the ProGrade 512GB V90 card. The good news is the ProGrade 512GB V90 card works with all formats on the C70 up to and including RAW ST and LT, and you get some killer recording times with all that capacity:
- 171 mins of RAW ST on the C70 at 23.98fps (Locked at 4096×2160 398 Mbps)
- 263 min of RAW LT on the C70 at 23.98fps (Locked at 4096×2160 259 Mbps)
- 166 min of XF-AVC YCC422 10-Bit 3840×2160 410Mbps Intra at 23.98
