The expanded capacity addresses the performance and storage needs demanded by video editors and creative professionals who want to dramatically increase the amount of digital assets they can ingest, edit or playback including multiple streams of uncompressed HD (10-bit and 12-bit) video.

In conjunction with this increased capacity, PROMISE also announces a price reduction for their internationally award winning Pegasus R6 12TB units. The increased availability of HDDs due to the stabilization in the recently volatile market has resulted in dramatically lower costs for drives and PROMISE has seized on this unique opportunity to pass along these savings directly to their customers.

Designed from the ground up for media and entertainment customers and fully compatible with all Thunderbolt enabled Macs, Pegasus R6 offers superior speed and throughput in a form factor small enough for a desktop or on-location environment. Utilizing Thunderbolt technology high-speed I/O, Pegasus R6 can deliver over 900 MB/s of performance, typically more than 3 times faster than USB 3.0 devices, 20 times faster than USB 2.0 devices and 12 times faster than FireWire 800 devices. The Pegasus R6 3TB Model provides 18TB of raw capacity (15TB formatted with HFS+) in RAID 5.

The PROMISE Pegasus family is also available in 4 and 6-bay configurations with either 4TB or 12TB of raw capacity.
