Roland's Rob Read discusses the new V-1200HD hybrid-engine 2 M/E multi-format switcher

Streaming Medai by Steve Nathans-Kelly In an interview at the Streaming Media booth at NAB 2015, Roland ProAV marketing manager discussed Roland's latest mixer, the V-1200HD hybrid-engine 2 M/E switcher. "It has a 4:4:4 processor for live presentation stuff," Read said, "so you can take computer signals and get really, really good video quality, but it also has a 4:2:2 processor for broadcasting events. You've got four key layers and a built-in 16-channel audio mixer." But what really sets this model apart from others in its class, Read said, is its expandability. "The other thing that we've added to it is expansion cards," he said. "If you want to add more SDI, or want to add more DVI, we've evened added some expansion cards so you can bring in audio protocols, like Dante ior MIDI from your audio board and send it to the video signal, as well." read more...
