Editing powerhouse beefed up, especially under the hood Bursting out of the gate at NAB is the new Sony Vegas 6 ($600, upgrade from Vegas 5, $200). Major new features include improved HDV editing including 24p, enhanced multiprocessor support for faster render times and nested projects which can be used on the timeline as if they were any other file. Add to that the ability to down-rez and up-rez from and to just about any resolution, and you have yourself an outstanding new version of an application that was already great to begin with.
