SAN DIEGO (March 29, 2011)—Sorenson Media today announced that the company will play an active role at the 2011 NAB Show “Content in the Cloud” conference, including participation on the event’s Cloud Computing Deployment panel Monday, April 11, and demonstrations throughout the event of the company’s flagship cloud-based products: Sorenson Squeeze Server and the Squeeze Solutions Pack.
The company will be represented on the Cloud Computing Deployment panel by David Dudas, vice president of video solutions and a prominent expert in the areas of hosted digital media platforms and software-as-a-service, including cloud applications. The panel will examine “implications of cloud computing on all aspects of content delivery starting with postproduction concerns such as transcoding and metadata and then tracing each step of multicast streaming and VoD downloading through viewer authentication, distribution chain accountability, and performance analytics.”
“It is an honor to be included on a panel of visionaries working to expand the transformative potential of the cloud in the exploding online video movement,” said Dudas. “It is also rewarding to represent a company on the forefront of developing innovative technology that is powering the ongoing evolution of the cloud.”
Sorenson Media will also demo a quartet of products at NAB Show, including: three versions of the high-volume encoding platform Sorenson Squeeze Server, including on premise, cloud-based and a hybrid solution; Sorenson Squeeze Solution Pack, which provides users a highly flexible, automatically scalable cloud encoding solution; the award-winning, gold-standard Sorenson Squeeze desktop encoding application; and Sorenson 360, the company’s innovative online video platform (OVP). Several Sorenson Media technical experts will demo the products in booth SL9620 of the company’s strategic partner Aspera, which collaborated in the development of the Squeeze Solution Pack.
In addition to impromptu product demonstrations in the Aspera booth throughout the conference, Sorenson Media and Aspera will host a cocktail event, Tuesday, April 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., during which they, along with collaborators RightScale and Amazon Web Services, will present leading features and functions of the Squeeze Solution Pack, outline the four-company collaboration that produced the innovations, and direct interested parties to an advanced demo station to experience the solutions firsthand on a 60” high-res screen.
