HDV, surround, and AVC for today's leading-edge projects. Handles multiple AV file for-mats on timeline with ease. Scripting facilitates time-saving automation of built-in toolset. When I'm tackling a project, I always prefer fighting for the story and not with my gear. Having used Sony Vegas in all of its various incarnations, I'm continuously pleased that I can load it on just about any PC with FireWire and edit a sophisticated project quickly. Program performance always depends on the computer used, but rarely does Vegas itself limit you. I cut many projects on a Win98 P3 with 128 MB RAM using Vegas 3. Now a few years, several computers, and three software revisions later, I'm happy to report that Vegas 6 continues as a formidable NLE alternative for those professionals partial to the PC.
