Videezy lets you download and share free HD stock video footage

Bowling Green, KY – The Eezy Network announced the launch of a new website today that is expanding what is already one of the largest online resources for graphic designers and creative professionals. Videezy.com will provide its users with a different way of accessing free HD stock video footage, which is something video editors and motion graphic artists are sure to appreciate.

When asked about the significance of the launch, Videezy’s founder Shawn Rubel described the site as a natural addition to the Eezy Network. “We knew that many of our community members incorporate video editing and motion graphics into their projects, and so providing a helpful, free resource for them just made sense.”

Although there are other websites that offer free video stock footage, Rubel claims that many of them require the user to create an account or have licensing issues that make it difficult to access the HD footage. “The biggest problem we noticed concerned the creative commons licensed footage available on these sites. They advertised the footage, but when you tried to locate the clip you wanted, it would be nearly impossible to access and download without having to sign up for something. Our goal with Videezy.com was to make the entire process of locating free footage as simple as possible.”

With over 7300 Facebook fans already, Videezy.com is being recognized as a valuable resource that enables its users to share and download video with a degree of user control unavailable on other sharing-based sites. A Creative Commons license combined with the Standard Videezy License gives copyright holders total control over how their footage can be used. “In this way, our users know precisely how each clip can be used so they can set the parameters of their searches quickly and efficiently. Videezy makes finding what you’re looking for dead simple.”

The Eezy Network also consists of Brusheezy.com and Vecteezy.com for Photoshop brushes and vector graphics respectively. The entire Eezy Network consists of almost 1M user accounts, over 150k Facebook fans, and over 350k newsletter subscribers from creative professionals worldwide.

History

In late 2006, Shawn had a problem: as a graphic designer, he was looking for a few good Photoshop brushes and Photoshop patterns to extend one of his designs. After trying to find a website where he could quickly and easily find and download brushes, he was disappointed by the lack of options – everything was either ugly and hard to use, only focused on selling content, or only had a very limited selection available. So he decided to build his own personal index of free Photoshop brushes, and thus Brusheezy was born.

After a few months, it was clear that the demand had outgrown the abilities of the intial prototype, and so Shawn collaborated with Kennon to build a cleaner and more feature-rich version that could also handle the increased load. Since then the community has grown in leaps and bounds, gaining hundreds of new artists and thousands of brushes.

In 2010, Jonathan and Erin joined the team to help set in motion the new version of the Eezy family that would extend the sites to other resources (like vectors and stock video) and would focus on bringing the community together.
