Watch how the G-Tech Evolution Series is Evolving Storage Workflows

At this past IBC show G-Tech announced some really cool new products coming to the G-Tech Evolution Series of video/photo storage solutions. I am extremely excited about 2 of them. The new G-Speed Studio XL configured with 6 drives and 2 G-Drive ev bays is going to be a killer. 6 drives in RAID 5 will give you the performance you need for editing 4K footage, while the 2 bays will enable you to ingest adn make back up copies of your footage from the field. Add in the new Red card reader and you've got a must have workflow that RED shooters and shops working with RED footage are going to love.

Cinema5D: G-Technology introduces RED card reader, ev Firewire adapter, G-DOCK ev Solo

Cinema 5D interviewed Mark Anderson from G-Technology about their latest G-Tech Evolution Series products. The new Studio XL 8-Bay Raid now taking ev modules, a RED card reader and a Firewire adapter for EV-series harddrives. The Thunderbolt 8-Bay G-Speed Studio XL consists of a 6-Bay Raid with up to 48TB capacity and two ev bays, which can either be used with existing EV-series hard drives or with their new RED Reader. The RED card reader also has a USB3 port so that it can be used on its own. Due to its form factor, it also fits into the existing G-Drive ev Dock. Using the RED card reader in the 8-Bay G-Speed Studio XL will allow a DIT to have one system from which he/she can make copies from the card directly to an ev series drive and onto the RAID. The G-Drive ev can then be sent off set for post production or editing.
