Hello, I'm Joe Mamiro, head of project management at Panasonic ProAV. In traditional broadcast, 16x9 has been the standard aspect ratio. But that's no longer the only format we should consider. More and more content is being produced in 9x6 for vertical displays and smartphones. While LED screens and projection mapping demand a wide variety of custom formats, we now see ultra wide and vertical screens everywhere from TV studios and theaters to concerts and sport venues. Stadiums in particular are using LED ribbon boards and fascia displays that require extremely wide resolutions with dynamic and engaging content. And this content must be fully synchronized and integrated into the overall visual experience. The good news is that Kylo, the live production platform from Panasonic, can create any resolution and any aspect ratio, no matter how unconventional they are. The process is intuitive and straightforward. Users can create compositions on a flexible canvas of any size. Tyros is supporting resolutions of up to 12K or 66 megapixels and can output any of these custom formats via HDMI or IP using SD2110 or IPMX which is coming in the next release. This means there is no need for external converters, signal reassembling, pillar boxing or letter boxing. You work directly at the native resolution and aspect ratio of your screen, treating it just like any other output. With this capability, Kylo bring all the elements of a production together, delivering simultaneous content in multiple resolutions and formats while simplifying the operation. It's an efficient, highly automated solution that transform the atmosphere of any venue, keeping the audiences fully engaged.
