Here's what's included:
Logo Overlay — Branding Without a Switcher
Stream Tools lets you upload a PNG or JPEG image that appears as a persistent on-screen overlay throughout your entire stream — a bug, watermark, or lower third graphic applied at the cloud level.
How it works: Upload your branded image in the LiveU portal. Once activated, it appears on your stream for the duration of the broadcast. It can't be changed or removed during the live stream — set it before you go live.
Who this is for: Single-camera operators who want professional branding without a full graphics system or switcher in the workflow. A sports broadcaster covering a youth league game, a field reporter sending a live feed, a school broadcasting club — anyone who needs a bug on screen without additional hardware.
Limitation to know: Because the overlay is applied in the cloud and can't be changed mid-stream, it's best suited for static brand elements rather than dynamic lower thirds. For productions that need animated or changeable graphics, a switcher with a graphics engine handles that layer.
Multi-Destination Streaming — Up to 10 Simultaneous Destinations
The base Solo Connect plan streams to one destination. Stream Tools expands this to up to 10 simultaneous destinations.
Stream to YouTube and Facebook at the same time. Add Twitch. Send an SRT feed to a production studio while also pushing RTMP to a CDN. Any combination of up to 10 RTMP or SRT endpoints simultaneously, managed from the cloud.
Who this is for: Organizations that broadcast to multiple platforms — a church streaming to YouTube, Facebook, and their website simultaneously; a sports broadcaster sending to a league platform plus a public feed; a corporate event going to an internal platform and LinkedIn simultaneously.
This removes the need for a third-party multi-streaming service or a cloud restreaming subscription — it's built into Stream Tools.
Failover Screen — Keep the Stream Alive During Signal Loss
If the Solo Pro completely loses signal and can't send video, the default behavior of most streaming platforms is to end the stream entirely. A dropped stream means viewers leave and the event feels unprofessional.
Stream Tools adds a failover splash screen — a JPEG image you upload in the LiveU portal before the event. If the signal is completely lost:
- The LiveU cloud detects the signal loss
- Instead of ending the stream, it plays the failover JPEG to your viewers
- Your stream stays technically "live" on the platform
- The Solo Pro on location continues trying to reconnect to cellular
- When signal returns, the live video resumes
Who this is for: Any production where a dropped stream would be unacceptable — houses of worship mid-service, live news coverage, a graduation ceremony, a corporate keynote. The failover screen buys time for the connection to recover without breaking the stream for viewers.
Cloud Monitoring — View Your Stream Remotely
Stream Tools adds a cloud viewer that lets you monitor your live stream from the LiveU portal — essentially watching what your viewers see, in real time, from any device with a browser.
For solo operators in the field who can't watch a preview monitor while also operating a camera, this provides a way to confirm the stream looks correct without a second person at the production position.
Is Stream Tools Worth It?
Yes if:
- You need to stream to more than one destination
- You want branding without a switcher
- You're in a high-stakes environment where a failover screen is valuable insurance
- You operate solo and want cloud-level monitoring
Not necessary if:
- You already have a production switcher handling graphics and multi-destination streaming
- You stream to only one platform
- A dropped stream, while inconvenient, isn't catastrophic to your event
