Panasonic Adds 4K ProRes RAW to GH5

Panasonic has announced ProRes RAW recording for the GH5s. ProRes RAW recording is usually not found on any GH models. According to Steve Dent,  Associate Editor at Engadget, "this feature will allow GH5s owners to capture full DCI 4K (4,096 x 2,160) or anamorphic 3.7K in 12-bit RAW quality at up to 60 fps over HDMI."

Panasonic's new LUT is perfect if you use V-LOG/V-Gamut color profiles when you shoot in ProRes RAW. LUT makes it easy to match colors with V-Log footage shot on Panasonic cameras. The new feature does require an Atomos Ninja V Monitor Recorder.

In addition to RAW recording, Panasonic announced more features for the GH5s and G9 camera models, including double the eye and face recognition speeds for people, five times faster human and animal body detection speeds, and more. These features will be available for both cameras on June 8th, 2021.
