Today Avid Avid announced Media Composer version 6, Symphony version 6 and NewsCutter version 10 . Avid matins they acer deeply committed to professionals, and are pleased to announce that all of these new applications are 64 bit native.
Avid Media Composer 6.0 has been rebuilt from the core on an entirely new open, 64-bit architecture. Avid is also introducing a sleek, new User Interface that is designed to speed up workflows while preserving the same functionality. This means it will still look familiar to Avid professionals and you will not be forced to re-learn a new application.

also announced a new codec support for Avid DNxHD 444 and support for
Avid Artist Color. Their codecs support further expand to the RED Epic,
and AVCHD. Avid further goes on to announce Apple ProRes round tripping
support on the MAC.
3rd
part support will integrate a wide variety of Deck-link cards, I/O
Thunderbolt, Black Magic Design, AJA, Motu, and BlueFish444. 3 Party
support will be available from day one of release.
