YoloBox Extreme Control Features: YOLO Deck, Stream Deck, PTZ Control, and YoloCam Integration

YoloBox Extreme Control Features: YOLO Deck, Stream Deck, PTZ Control, and YoloCam Integration

Recent firmware updates significantly expanded how you control the YoloBox Extreme — and what the YoloBox can control in return. Here's what's new across four areas: YOLO Deck, Stream Deck integration, PTZ camera control, and native YoloCam control.

YOLO Deck — YoloLiv's Own Button Controller

YoloLiv introduced the YOLO Deck as a dedicated physical button controller for the YoloBox Extreme. Setup is straightforward: open the gear menu in the YoloBox interface, navigate to YOLO Deck Configuration, and assign any production function to any button.

Functions you can assign include scene switches, source selections, recording start/stop, streaming controls, layout changes, and more. For operators who want a tactile control surface without leaving the YoloLiv ecosystem, the YOLO Deck is the native option.

Stream Deck Integration — Use What You Already Have

If you already own an Elgato Stream Deck, you don't need to buy a YOLO Deck. YoloLiv added a Stream Deck plugin available through the Elgato Marketplace.

To set it up:

  1. Open the Elgato Marketplace on your computer
  2. Search "YoloBox"
  3. Download the plugin
  4. Assign YoloBox functions to your Stream Deck buttons

The plugin works with most Stream Deck models and routes through a connected computer. Production functions — source switching, recording, streaming, layouts — all map to Stream Deck buttons. If you're already using Stream Deck for graphics, lighting, and audio in your production, adding YoloBox control keeps everything on one surface.

PTZ Camera Control — Directly from the YoloBox

The YoloBox Extreme now supports PTZ camera control over the network — pan, tilt, zoom, and preset recall directly from the touchscreen, no separate PTZ controller required.

To access: tap the arrow icon on any NDI PTZ camera source in your input list. The full pan/tilt/zoom joystick interface opens on the YoloBox touchscreen. Preset recall buttons (P1, P2, P3 and more) recall saved camera positions instantly.

Compatible with PTZ cameras connected to the same network as the YoloBox via standard PTZ control protocols. This was demonstrated live with a PTZOptics Move 4K 30x camera — full pan, tilt, zoom, and preset control from the YoloBox interface.

For single-operator productions, this means the YoloBox handles switching, monitoring, streaming, recording, and camera positioning from one device.

YoloCam S3 Control — USB Webcam with Full Camera Settings

The YoloCam S3 ($199.99) connects to the YoloBox Extreme via a single USB cable and unlocks native camera control from the YoloBox touchscreen — something standard USB webcams don't offer.

Hold the S3 source in the YoloBox input list and select Camera Settings. From there you can adjust in real time:

  • Sharpness, contrast, saturation — image quality controls
  • Exposure, ISO, shutter speed — full manual exposure control
  • White balance — set a specific Kelvin value (e.g. 5600K for daylight) to match other cameras in your studio
  • Autotracking — enable, disable, and configure tracking behavior

The autotracking on the S3 is face-based and works in real time. Set it, step back, and the camera follows the presenter automatically.

YoloCam S3 specs: 4K/30 or 1080p/60 · 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor · AI PDAF autofocus · plug-and-play USB

YoloCam S7 Control — Micro Four Thirds with Interchangeable Lenses

The YoloCam S7 brings the same native YoloBox control to a higher-end camera platform. Same camera settings interface — sharpness, exposure, white balance, autotracking — with significantly upgraded image quality.

The S7's Micro Four Thirds mount accepts interchangeable lenses, making it adaptable to any focal length need. Time-of-Flight autofocus handles fast-moving subjects more reliably than contrast-detect systems.

Available body-only (for those with existing MFT lenses) or with an 18mm lens for an additional $100.

YoloCam S7 specs: 4K/60 · Micro Four Thirds sensor · interchangeable lenses · Time-of-Flight autofocus · HDMI and USB-C output

Save Settings — The Update That Saves the Most Time

One of the most practically valuable firmware additions: saved production settings. When creating a new event, a "Use Previous Event Settings" option at the top of the screen restores:

  • Camera input assignments
  • Layouts
  • Audio levels and mixes
  • Graphics and overlays
  • All production settings from the last session

For recurring productions — weekly services, regular podcasts, sports seasons — setup time drops to near zero. Everything is where you left it.

Quick Mode also now supports direct streaming, meaning you can go from device power-on to live stream in minutes without building a new event from scratch.
