The AJA Corvid 44 BNC is a flexible multi-format PCIe video I/O card designed for professional broadcast, live production, post-production, and other demanding video workflows. It provides four full-size bidirectional 3G-SDI BNC connections, allowing AJA Developer Partner applications to access up to four simultaneous SDI input or output streams from a single PCIe card.

Corvid 44 BNC supports 4K, UltraHD, 2K, HD, and SD workflows up to 50/60p, along with 12-bit RGB 4:4:4, 10-bit YCbCr 4:2:2, HDR, embedded audio, hardware keying, and professional synchronization and device-control features.

Flexible Multi-Format 3G-SDI I/O

Each of the four full-size 3G-SDI BNC connections can be programmed independently as either an input or output. Each connection can also support a different video format, provided the signals use the same clock timing.

The connections can be linked for dual-link or 4K/UltraHD workflows, giving Corvid 44 BNC the flexibility to handle a variety of SDI configurations from a single PCIe card.

4K and High Frame Rate Support

Corvid 44 BNC supports 4K (4096 x 2160) and UltraHD (3840 x 2160) high frame rate workflows at 48p, 50p, and 60p. It also supports multiple 720p and 1080p HD inputs and outputs at frame rates up to 50p and 60p.

This makes the Corvid 44 BNC suitable for professional applications requiring smooth motion and high-quality video across 4K, HD, and SD formats.

Professional Video and Color Support

Corvid 44 BNC supports advanced video formats for demanding production workflows, including:

64-Channel Embedded Audio

The Corvid 44 BNC features four independent 16-channel, 48 kHz SDI embedded audio I/O engines. Each 3G-SDI connection supports 16 channels of embedded audio, with up to 64 channels of audio available across multiple SDI connections.

This provides the audio capacity needed for complex broadcast and production workflows.

HDR Metadata and AJA Control Room

The AJA Control Room Metadata Toolset helps manage advanced SDI workflows containing metadata such as SCTE-104 and Dolby Vision metadata. Metadata can be captured and exported to a sidecar file.

AJA Control Room can also export metadata synchronized with media on a per-frame basis, helping maintain accurate metadata throughout supported workflows. The metadata toolset is available for macOS and Windows.

LTC and Reference Input

Corvid 44 BNC provides an external, switchable LTC/Reference input on the back of the card. An additional LTC input is available through an internal header.

Reference input supports analog black burst and tri-level sync, providing synchronization options for professional video environments.

RS-422 Device Control

A built-in RS-422 connection provides control of external devices for frame-accurate ingest and layoff workflows. The RS-422 connection is available through an external connection on the Corvid 44 BNC.

Apple Silicon Support

Corvid 44 BNC includes support for Apple silicon, allowing the card to be used with supported modern Mac-based professional video workflows.

Professional Support and Warranty

AJA provides technical support for Corvid 44 BNC installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting. The Corvid 44 BNC is covered by a three-year warranty.
