The AJA FiDO-2R-12G is a compact 2-channel single-mode LC fiber to 12G-SDI receiver designed for reliable long-distance SDI signal transmission. It converts fiber optic signals to two independent 12G-SDI outputs and supports 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI workflows.

Using standard single-mode fiber optic cable, the FiDO-2R-12G supports transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft). 12G-SDI Fiber Conversion Over Long Distances

The FiDO-2R-12G provides a practical way to transport high-bandwidth SDI signals over long distances using standard single-mode fiber. With support for transmission distances up to 10 km, it can help connect cameras, production equipment, broadcast systems, and other SDI devices across large facilities or production environments.

The receiver provides two independent fiber-to-SDI conversion paths, allowing each channel to operate separately. The unit supports a wide range of SDI formats, including 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, making it suitable for both modern 4K workflows and existing HD infrastructure.

HDR Metadata Pass-Through

The AJA FiDO-2R-12G supports SDI metadata pass-through, including HDR metadata, helping preserve important signal information as video is converted from fiber to SDI.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) can provide a wider range of brightness and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), allowing production systems to maintain richer images with brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and more detailed color.

Flexible LC Fiber Connectivity

FiDO-2R-12G supports two simplex or one duplex LC fiber connection, providing flexibility for different fiber configurations. Its single-mode fiber support makes it suitable for long-distance professional video signal transport in broadcast, live production, studio, and AV environments.

Compact AJA Mini-Converter Design
