The AJA FiDO-2T-12G is a compact 2-channel 12G-SDI to single-mode LC fiber transmitter designed for long-distance SDI signal transport. It converts two independent SDI inputs to fiber and supports 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI workflows.

Using standard single-mode fiber optic cable, the FiDO-2T-12G supports transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft). Its compact Mini-Converter design makes it ideal for broadcast facilities, production studios, mobile production trucks, live events, camera systems, and professional AV installations where reliable long-distance SDI transport is required.

12G-SDI to Fiber Conversion Over Long Distances

The AJA FiDO-2T-12G provides a reliable way to transport high-bandwidth SDI signals over long distances using standard single-mode fiber. It converts two independent SDI sources to fiber, supporting transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft).

With support for 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, the FiDO-2T-12G can be used with both modern 4K production systems and established HD-SDI infrastructure.

The two SDI-to-fiber paths are completely independent, allowing each channel to operate separately for flexible multi-channel video transport.

Flexible Single-Mode LC Fiber Connectivity

FiDO-2T-12G supports two simplex or one duplex LC fiber connection, providing flexible connectivity for professional video systems.

Single-mode fiber allows SDI signals to be transported much farther than traditional copper SDI cabling, making the FiDO-2T-12G useful for connecting cameras, production equipment, control rooms, venues, studios, and other locations across large facilities.

HDR Metadata Pass-Through

The FiDO-2T-12G supports SDI metadata pass-through, including HDR metadata, helping preserve important signal information during SDI-to-fiber conversion.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) provides a wider range of brightness and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), allowing production systems to maintain richer images with brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and greater color detail.

Compact and Portable Mini-Converter Design

The FiDO-2T-12G features AJA's compact Mini-Converter enclosure, making it easy to install in space-constrained production environments. The low-profile design can fit behind monitors, inside equipment racks, in mobile production trucks, or directly on camera rigs.

A locking power connector helps prevent accidental power disconnection, while an optional P-TAP power cable can provide battery power for remote production applications.

Universal Power Supply

The FiDO-2T-12G operates on 5-20VDC power and includes a universal power supply with international plug connections. A spare universal power supply can also be used with AJA Mini-Converters for additional flexibility in production and installation environments.
