4-Channel Fiber to 3G-SDI Conversion

The AJA FiDO-4R provides four independent fiber-to-SDI conversion paths in a compact Mini-Converter. It receives signals over single-mode LC fiber and converts them to 3G-SDI outputs, while also supporting HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats.

Each channel operates independently, providing flexible multi-channel signal transport for professional video systems. This makes FiDO-4R particularly useful when multiple cameras or video sources need to be transported over fiber to a central production or broadcast system.

Long-Distance Single-Mode Fiber Transmission

FiDO-4R supports transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft) using standard single-mode fiber optic cable. Fiber provides a practical way to transport professional SDI signals over long distances without the distance limitations of traditional copper SDI cabling.

The receiver supports four simplex or two duplex LC fiber connections, allowing flexible fiber infrastructure configurations.

4K and UltraHD-SDI Over Fiber

FiDO-4R supports 4K/UltraHD-SDI over four fiber links, allowing multiple 3G-SDI signals to be used together for high-resolution video workflows.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) provides a wider range of brightness and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), allowing compatible production systems to maintain brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and richer color detail.

Compact AJA Mini-Converter Design

The FiDO-4R features AJA's compact, low-profile Mini-Converter enclosure. Its small footprint allows it to fit behind monitors, inside equipment racks, in mobile production trucks, or directly on camera rigs.

A locking power connector helps prevent accidental power disconnection. An optional P-TAP power cable can also provide battery-powered operation for remote production applications.

Universal Power Supply

The FiDO-4R operates on 5-20VDC power and includes a universal power supply with international plug connections. Spare universal power supplies are also available for AJA Mini-Converters, providing additional flexibility for professional production environments.
