The AJA FiDO-T-12G-ST is a compact 12G-SDI to single-mode ST fiber transmitter designed for reliable, long-distance SDI signal transport. It converts a 12G-SDI input to single-mode fiber and supports 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI formats.

Using standard single-mode fiber optic cable, the FiDO-T-12G-ST supports transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft). 12G-SDI to Single-Mode ST Fiber Conversion

The AJA FiDO-T-12G-ST provides a reliable way to transport high-bandwidth SDI signals over long distances using standard single-mode fiber. It supports transmission distances of up to 10 km (32,808 ft), making it suitable for connecting professional video equipment across large venues, production facilities, and broadcast environments.

The transmitter accepts a 12G-SDI input and also supports 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI signals. This broad format compatibility allows the FiDO-T-12G-ST to support both 4K and HD video production workflows.

Secure Locking ST Fiber Connection

The FiDO-T-12G-ST features a locking ST barrel connector designed to provide secure fiber connectivity. The locking connection is particularly useful in live event, mobile production, broadcast, and other demanding environments where equipment may be moved or subjected to frequent cable handling.

The unit uses a simplex single-mode fiber connection for long-distance SDI signal transport.

Reclocked SDI Loop-Through

The FiDO-T-12G-ST provides a reclocked loop-through of the SDI input, allowing the incoming SDI signal to be passed through to additional equipment while the primary signal is simultaneously converted to fiber.

Reclocking helps maintain signal integrity as part of professional SDI workflows, providing additional flexibility when connecting multiple pieces of video equipment.

HDR Metadata Pass-Through

The FiDO-T-12G-ST supports SDI metadata pass-through, including HDR metadata, helping preserve important signal information during SDI-to-fiber conversion.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) provides a wider range of brightness and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), allowing compatible production systems to deliver brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and richer color detail.

Compact AJA Mini-Converter Design

The FiDO-T-12G-ST uses AJA's compact Mini-Converter enclosure, making it easy to install in locations where space is limited. The low-profile design can fit behind monitors, inside equipment racks, in mobile production trucks, or directly on camera rigs.

A locking power connector helps prevent accidental power disconnection. An optional P-TAP power cable can also provide battery-powered operation for remote production applications.

Universal Power Supply

The FiDO-T-12G-ST operates on 5-20VDC power and includes a universal power supply with international plug connections. A spare universal power supply can also be used with AJA Mini-Converters for additional flexibility in professional production environments.
