The AJA FiDO-TR-MM is a professional 3G-SDI multi-mode LC fiber transceiver designed for bidirectional video signal transmission over fiber optic cable. It supports 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI signals, transmitting and receiving video over a duplex LC fiber connection. With support for cable runs up to 700 meters (2,296 feet) over OM4 fiber or 300 meters (984 feet) over OM3 fiber, it is ideal for broadcast facilities, live production, and professional AV installations.

The FiDO-TR-MM provides electrical isolation to help eliminate ground loop problems and features a compact Mini-Converter design that fits easily behind monitors, inside equipment racks, in mobile production trucks, and on camera rigs.

Bidirectional 3G-SDI Multi-Mode Fiber Conversion

The AJA FiDO-TR-MM simplifies video signal transport by combining SDI-to-fiber transmission and fiber-to-SDI reception in one compact device. Its bidirectional design supports sending and receiving 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI signals over a duplex multi-mode LC fiber connection.

With transmission distances up to 700 meters over OM4 fiber and 300 meters over OM3 fiber, the FiDO-TR-MM is well suited to broadcast studios, live event venues, production facilities, and other environments where video equipment needs to communicate across longer distances.

Fiber optic transmission also provides electrical isolation, helping reduce ground loop problems in professional video systems.

HDR Metadata Pass-Through

The FiDO-TR-MM supports pass-through of SDI metadata, including High Dynamic Range (HDR) information. HDR video can deliver a wider range of colors, brighter highlights, and deeper blacks than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR). Metadata pass-through helps preserve supported signal information as video travels through the fiber transmission path.

Compact and Portable Mini-Converter Design

Designed for professional broadcast and video production environments, the FiDO-TR-MM features a compact, low-profile enclosure that fits into space-constrained installations. Place it behind a monitor, inside an equipment rack, in a mobile production truck, or directly on a camera rig.

The unit accepts 5–20 VDC power and includes a universal power supply with international plug connections. An optional P-TAP power cable supports battery-powered setups in remote production environments.
