The AJA FiDO-TR is a compact 1-channel 3G-SDI to single-mode LC fiber transceiver designed for bidirectional SDI-to-fiber conversion and long-distance video signal transport. It supports 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI signals and provides up to 10 km (32,808 ft) of transmission over standard single-mode fiber.

The FiDO-TR also provides electrical isolation between the SDI and fiber connections, which can help eliminate ground loop problems in professional video systems. Its compact Mini-Converter design makes it well suited for broadcast facilities, live production, mobile trucks, studios, and camera rigs.

Bidirectional 3G-SDI and Fiber Conversion

The AJA FiDO-TR provides flexible two-way SDI and fiber conversion in a compact Mini-Converter. It can convert a 3G-SDI signal to single-mode fiber or convert a fiber signal back to SDI.

The unit supports 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, making it suitable for a variety of professional video workflows. Its bidirectional, dual-channel fiber architecture provides flexible signal transport between SDI equipment and fiber-based infrastructure.

10 km Single-Mode Fiber Transmission

The FiDO-TR supports SDI signal transmission over standard single-mode fiber cable for distances up to 10 km (32,808 ft). This allows video signals to travel significantly farther than traditional copper SDI connections.

The duplex LC fiber connection is suitable for professional broadcast, live event, studio, mobile production, and long-distance video applications.

Electrical Isolation for Ground Loop Protection

High Dynamic Range (HDR) provides a wider range of brightness and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), allowing compatible production systems to maintain brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and richer color detail.

Compact AJA Mini-Converter Design

The FiDO-TR features AJA's compact Mini-Converter enclosure, making it easy to install in locations where space is limited. The low-profile design can fit behind monitors, inside equipment racks, in mobile production trucks, or directly on camera rigs.

A locking power connector helps prevent accidental power disconnection. An optional P-TAP power cable can also provide battery-powered operation for remote production applications.

Universal Power Supply

The FiDO-TR operates on 5-20VDC power and includes a universal power supply with international plug connections. A spare universal power supply can also be used with AJA Mini-Converters for additional flexibility in professional production environments.
