Short Description:

The AtomX Ninja V cage by SmallRig is designed to offer enhanced protection and multiple mounting options to the monitor/recorder, but with minimal additional size and weight. It forms a metal protective exo-skeleton around the device with multiple industry standard mount points across the top and bottom. On the base are a 1/4’’-20, 3/8’’-16 and ARRI style locating mount points. NATO rails are also provided along on both top and bottom to allow use with a range of SmallRig quick release mounts such as Ball Head Magic Arm 2071 or 2072. The Ninja V is secured into the cage using a 1/4’’-20 screw on the top and two M3 screws on the left hand side. The cage includes a single HDMI cable clamp that attaches to the left of the unit to protect the HDMI cable and port. It is ideal for securing the AtomFlex 4k60p HDMI cable to the Ninja V, but also works with a various other HDMI cables. If required, the cage supports the use of a second SmallRig HDMI cable clamp 1693 that can be attached to for use with the HDMI output. Both the new AtomX SSD drives and the older Atomos Master Caddy II can be inserted and removed from the Ninja V when in the cage. The cage also offers a drive lock that builds the additional size of the Master Caddy II into the overall form factor. There are raised attachment points on both the top and bottom of the cage for use with a strap, or to accommodate the Atomos Ninja V Sunhood frame. NOTE: The Atomos Sunhood mounting frame needs to be fitted before fitting the unit into the cage and once secured can be left in place providing additional protection even when the sunhood is removed.
