Description

Atomos Ninja Overview
The Atomos Ninja 5.2″ 4K HDMI Recording Monitor combines monitoring and recording in a compact, 5.2″ on-camera unit designed for filmmakers and creators. It supports DCI 4K over HDMI and can capture ProRes RAW up to 6K when paired with compatible cameras. Maintaining the same body style as earlier models, it works seamlessly with most existing Atomos accessories, making it easy to integrate into your setup.

Key Features

  • Record up to 6Kp30 in Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx or H.265 to SSD
  • Comprehensive monitoring tools for focus, framing and exposure
  • Compatible with a huge range of HDMI cameras
  • Combine with Atomos Connect to enable Network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity

AtomOS 11 Operating System
The Ninja runs on the updated AtomOS 11 platform, designed with a refreshed interface for quicker, more intuitive control. Tools like Focus Peaking, Zoom, False Color from both Atomos and ARRI, EL Zone exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssist, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides give you the flexibility to monitor with confidence. AtomHDR processing provides instant Log-to-PQ/HLG conversion for accurate HDR previewing.

5.2″ Touchscreen Display
The 5.2″ IPS panel features a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1000 cd/m² brightness, delivering reliable visibility even in daylight conditions. With 10-bit processing, Rec.709 coverage, and support for Calibrite ColorChecker calibration, you can trust your colors to be consistent and precise during monitoring.

Comprehensive Color
The Ninja is compatible with popular log formats from Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon. You can also load your own 3D LUTs and output HDR in Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision to match your workflow.

HDMI Interface, ProRes RAW Recording
Featuring HDMI input and output, the Ninja handles up to DCI 4K video at 60 fps for monitoring, recording, and playback. With certain cameras, it supports 3.5K RAW at 60 fps, and more than 55 models can record RAW over HDMI up to 6K at 30 fps.

Record 4K HDR Gaming
Gamers can use the Ninja as a standalone device for capturing UHD 4K HDR footage at high frame rates. Record, monitor, and review gameplay with ease for quick sharing to YouTube and other platforms.

Optional Atomos CONNECT Module
Pairing the Ninja with the Atomos CONNECT module unlocks cloud-based workflows like C2C, Atomos Edit, and RemoteView via Atomos Cloud Studio. The module also brings 12G-SDI input/output, AirGlu wireless sync, Wi-Fi 6, and GigE Ethernet. With these added tools you can live stream to NDI or RTMP/S destinations and convert between HDMI and SDI signals.

AtomX Cast
Adding the AtomX CAST turns the Ninja into a compact switching system. It enables live switching between four HDMI sources in 1080p, overlay graphics, and USB UVC webcam output for professional streaming and conferencing.

SSD Recording
The Ninja records directly to Atomos Master Caddy II or III drives. It also supports AtomX SSDmini media and CFAST II cards when using an optional adapter, giving you a variety of reliable recording options.

Power Options
A rear L-series battery plate powers the Ninja with NP-F batteries, while the USB-C port supports 30W PD input. The included dummy battery adapter allows you to connect to DC power for longer sessions.

Control Options
Control is straightforward with touchscreen navigation and multifunction buttons. Auto HDMI camera triggers are supported with Canon and Sony models. Remote control via Bluetooth or RF becomes available when the CONNECT module is attached, and additional LANC control is possible with a USB-C to serial cable.
