Expanding your PTZ Camera Workflow with the newest tools and technology available today

Gary hosts the final day of eduStreamTV. Today's focus: ptz cameras for your school productions.

Today we are going to look at how PTZ camera technology allows you to expand your schools production without a lot of additional human resources

We offer PTZ Cameras from

PTZOptics, NewTek, BirdDog, HuddleCamHD, Grass Valley, Panasonic, RGBlink

Our four areas of interest:

  • NDI Technology & connectivity
  • 4K Capabilities
  • EPTZ
  • Auto-tracking

Finding the right zoom

PTZOptics offers a great calculator. You can find it here at ptzoptics.com/zoom-calc/!

Types of Connection

There are three main types of connections for PTZ cameras

HDMI

+ High-speed, high resolution connection BUILT for video

- Expensive cabling not recommended for long runs over 50’

SDI

+ Excellent for long runs. Common in sports production

- Cable runs may be difficult to retrofit in building, churches

NDI

+ Just 1 Cable needed for video, power & control

+ Perfect for retrofit applications & flexible production use

There are two types of NDI. There is Full NDI and NDI|HX.

What is NDI|HX 3?

NDI|HX 3 gives the option to deliver low latency transmission with reduced bandwidth, while maintaining the visually lossless standards NDI users demand; allowing users to deliver broadcast quality video in any setting without the need to upgrade their equipment.

NDI|HX PTZ3 is the world’s first camera to offer NDI|HX3. Delivering better video with reduced latency – using a fraction of the bandwidth.

NDI® Bridge

Connecting video sources from multiple sites to enable truly global production has been almost impossible.

  • With NDI Bridge, you can simply and securely share all NDI network sources between remote sites, anywhere in the world.
  • NDI Bridge delivers local convenience on a global scale while supporting all the NDI capabilities including PTZ control, Tally, alpha channel, KVM, unlimited audio channels, meta-data and much more

Let's Talk 4K

Most live streaming solutions are still 1080p. However, having a 4K camera can future proof yourself, and also make one camera look like multiple. Here's how!

How EPTZ Works

What is It? EPTZ simulates pan, tilt and zoom operations inside of a large resolution pixel space.

Example: A 4K image space allows for 3X lossless digital zoom with a 720p output.

Control: Gain control over the EPTZ feature with the FREE PTZOptics camera control software, OBS, LiveStream Studio and more.  The NDI Model can also be controlled with NDI studio.

What is auto tracking?

Check out this great demo of all the capabilities auto tracking has to offer. Perfect for live streaming lectures for education!
