It's no secret that Covid-19 has caused a major disruption in the live sports industry since early 2020. Now, some major sporting events are returning, taking safety concerns into account. This means different workflows, lighter attendance, and a greater need for streaming.
One such even is the US Open, which will return this year being streamed by ESPN, with a slightly different workflow than in the past. ESPN will be relying on SimplyLive production systems.
It's worth noting that while SimplyLive are great systems to produce your live sports broadcast, these devices take a great deal of know how for installation. Luckily, Videoguys can help. We have a network of dealers who regularly perform installs with devices like these, who we can direct you to. Feel free to give us a call at 1-800-323-2325 for more information!
ESPN has used the SimplyLive ViBox to create smaller teams to operate their live stream. These teams are comprised of a director or operator for the production system itself, and a camera operator controlling four cameras. This workflow helps keep the production teams to a fewer headcount, making them safer, and more social distance friendly.
